Kramoda Coffee: Viral to Viable

This week I decided to keep on theme with influencer successes in the coffee industry. At the peak of its era, Vine was the place for comedic content and my most frequented app during the years of 2014-2016. Zane and Heath, a friend duo living in Florida at the time, made the top spot on the comedy page on the daily with their six-second sketches. A Vine of theirs that went viral and sticks with me even years later, is this short sketch that will make you question why you chuckled. The Vine is considered one of the best, and would later become the inspiration for Kramoda Coffee.

After Vine shut down in 2016, Zane and Heath made the move to YouTube, where they created long-form vlog content. Similar to Emma Chamberlain from last week's post, Zane and Heath had a segment in their vlogs called “Coffee Talk”. They would stop in the middle of their errands and visit a small Vietnamese coffee shop, where over time they were able to befriend the owners and they became characters in the vlog. The coffee shop was also able to increase its business because of Zane and Heath’s fanbase.

After two years in the creating process, Zane and Heath made the smart move to create Kramoda, their own coffee line inspired by their successful and nostalgic Vine. This is another example of taking your internet brand and turning it into something profitable, and it’s clear that effort was put into the product. They believe that coffee is not simply just a drink, but an opportunity to connect and explore.

While I was not able to get my hands on a batch of Kramoda for this post, I am eyeing their vibrant flavors for a future tasting and update. Flavors on their shop include “Sweet Butter Hazelnut”, “Cinnamon French Toast”, and more. Pricing is incredibly reasonable, and the coffee can come in the form of K-Cups! And for us Keurig-less folks, we can still buy the beans fresh, as the website explains every batch is made in small quantities.

If you happen to try Kramoda and become a fan, don’t forget to check out some of their merch!
